Interns have the opportunity to attend Full qualification training and/or a three day induction course, both being offered at the training centre of the the Institute of Estate Agents Western Cape. The induction course held from 13 to 15 June 2016 will offer those who are starting a career or thinking about a career in real estate an advantageous comprehensive understanding of how the property sector works.
It is highly recommended opportunity for all newcomers to property profession who want to know what is needed to get started in a real estate career. Some private individuals who are considering a change to the property sector will benefit, as well as those agents who have left and are wanting to return. This course is also aimed at assisting interns, and principals who have agents in their teams, who are about to begin their FETC Real Estate NQF4 Qualification training.

Included in the material that will be covered will be:
Property contracts and the law;
- Property finance
- Canvassing; profiling sellers and buyers; property listings, obtaining mandates, marketing a property;
- Negotiation skills; and
- The agent’s personal business plan, amongst other topics.
It is worth noting that the institute recommends interns obtain an intern FFC and work for approximately 4 months to gain knowledge and understanding before registering for their FETC in Real Estate NQF4 Qualification by means of a full training programme. This is offered at the IEASA Western Cape training centre for intern agents – so as to comply with the mandatory requirements of obtaining the qualification within 24 months of having ‘first’ been registered as an intern and issued with an intern Fidelity Fund Certificate.
