Miyelani Maluleke is a senior economist and leads the South Africa macroeconomics research team at Absa. The macroeconomics team has been consistently top ranked in the JSE Spire Awards and Financial Mail Analyst Awards. The team has also placed first in South Africa macro forecasting at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) in five of the last seven years. Miyelani has been a professional economist for over 15 years, having joined Absa in 2013, prior to which he was a senior policy analyst at the National Treasury and an analyst at the Bureau for Economic Research (BER). He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand.
