To All stakeholders

In 2021, the Board of the PPRA issued Practice Note ETD01/2020 giving property practitioners (intern estate agents and principals) who had failed to comply with Education Regulations of 2008 until 30 June 2022 to comply with the said Regulations. In terms of Practice Note ETD01/2020, the property practitioners concerned would have been blocked from operating and receiving Fidelity Fund Certificates (FFCs) had they not attained the necessary education qualifications and written Professional Designation Examination (PDE).

The PPRA was inundated with complaints from the industry to the effect that some candidates were not, for various reasons beyond their control, able to comply with the 30 June 2022 deadline.

Having considered all the relevant factors, including the interests of the candidates as well as the need to ensure compliance with the Regulations, the Board of the PPRA has issued Practice Note ETD01/2022 which extends the deadline to comply with Education Regulations to 31 January 2023.

Therefore, all affected candidates are expected to meet the new and the final deadline by            31 January 2023, failing which they will be barred from operating as property practitioners.
