This serves to inform eligible PDE candidates (those who have met internship (intern estate agents) and qualification requirements (NQF 4/5 Certification or equivalency exemption) that the enrolment and registration of 17 May 2018 examination is now open on MyEAAB portal, and closing on 26 April 2018, no late enrolments and payments will be accepted.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION: Those who have successfully lodged their postponements are also advised to lodge their enrolment through this process as per standard procedure because a postponement does not equal automatic enrolment. Candidates must still enrol and where top-up payment is required, must also ensure they pay the top-up fee on time before the closing date. This therefore means merely paying the required examination fee or having made a payment for a postponed examination sitting without enrolment during this period does not serve as an enrolment. Therefore it is important for all who wish to undertake the exam to access MyEAAB portal and enrol for the scheduled exam on 17 May 2018. No on-line enrolment, no entry seat number will be generated by the EAAB system and candidates will not be allowed into the examination venue even if they produce payment proof.
Eligibility requirements for enrolment and registration:
Candidates must enrol for the PDE using the “MyEAAB” portal accessible via www.eaab.org.za. No manual registrations will be allowed. Before enrolment, candidates should ensure that they have their 7 digit personal identification number (available by calling our Call Centre 087 285 3222) and ID number available and that the relevant NQF Level 4 and/or Level 5 Real estate qualification required for admission to the PDE has been uploaded to the EAAB database. If the required NQF real estate qualification does not appear on the system, candidates are requested to submit their qualifications via on-line query management for updating the system.
Intern estate agents must also ensure that the mandatory intern logbook and POE was duly sent to, and approved by, the EAAB before attempting to enrol for the PDE. A candidate will not be eligible to enrol for the PDE if the intern logbook has either not been received or approved by the EAAB and/or if the required NQF real estate qualification has not been uploaded to the EAAB database. To ensure a successful PDE enrolment on the “MyEAAB” portal, examination candidates are requested to follow the following enrolment procedure:
- www.eaab.org.za and click on “MyEAAB”, proceed to Agents portal and then Existing Estate Agents – click here to login (in order to login, please populate your 7 digit reference number, ID number and your surname as required by the system);
- Upon populating the information, click to proceed and then on your Right hand side of the system, click on Check PDE status (this will display if you qualify for PDE enrolment or not and those who qualify may proceed to follow system instructions to enrol by selecting an Examination venue of their choice and proceed to enrol as per system instructions;
Postponements: In line with the EAAB PDE policy relating to enrolments and postponements eligible PDE candidates are granted only one (1) allowable postponement attempt which must, similarly, be requested, lodged and approved through “MyEAAB” portal. It is compulsory, therefore, for the candidate to undertake the PDE on the selected postponement date in order not to forfeit the examination payment previously made. Failure to undertake the exam on the approved postponed date will result in a forfeiture of the full paid examination fee.
Postponement to examination dates falling outside the current financial year:
Examination candidates must ensure that the postponed date falls within the period 1 April to 31 March of the current financial year. Should the date fall into another financial year the postponement may be approved although a ‘top-up fee’ (being the difference between the first payment and the revised examination) will be required before an examination seat number can be allocated to the candidate, bearing in mind that the PDE enrolment fee generally increases on 1 April of each year. Candidates are requested to check the fees schedule on www.eaab.org.za prior to making an examination postponement request.
Postponements motivated by medical reasons or other factors beyond the control of the candidate must be fully supported by official documentary proof to be e-mailed to pde@eaab.org.za for assessment and approval. If approved the EAAB will process the postponement request and notify the candidate accordingly by e-mail. Proof of any required ‘top-up’ payment, together with proof of a previous payment made and approval of the postponement granted or the examination registration letter received when the postponement was requested or an examination registration attempted, must be uploaded via our on-line Query System for the attention of our Finance Department to expedite linking of payment with the enrolment confirmation and trigger the examination seat number which will be confirmed to the requester.
