As December 2017 rapidly draws near, full status estate agents (excluding presently registered intern estate agents), are again reminded that they must ensure that they comply with mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements if they wish to continue legally to practice as such.

The EAAB is especially concerned with the position of CPD participants who commenced, or ought to have commenced, the first rolling three-year CPD cycle in 2015 but who have either failed to register for CPD in 2015, 2016 and/or 2017 or who have not yet accumulated the requisite verifiable and non-verifiable CPD points for each of those CPD years. That cycle concludes in December 2017 after which the next rolling three-year CPD cycle begins anew.

To avoid the negative consequences of non-compliance, persons falling within this category are implored to ensure that they immediately register for any outstanding CPD years and complete the entire CPD programme for the three-year cycle through the ‘catch-up’ facility provided by the EAAB. The ‘catch-up’ facility allows participants to access CPD presentations delivered in 2015, 2016 and 2017 through e-learning and to acquire verifiable CPD points.

Affected persons are urged to visit the EAAB website at www.eaab.org.za without delay to register for CPD and are assured that there is still time for them to complete any outstanding CPD requirements through participation in the e-learning programme. Participants must access the “MyCPD” portal and ensure that they are correctly registered for CPD and have paid the prescribed fees for each calendar year.

Further information can be obtained by sending an e-mail to cpd@eaab.org.za.
