No CPD Payment nor Penalties for Late Audit Report!

In her budget vote address, Minister Sisulu announced Covid-19 impact relief measures for property practitioners that include no penalties for late submission of audit reports until 31 October 2020.

After extensive lobbying we are pleased to report that CPD fees will also be waived for the 2020 financial year.  The EAAB will publish the relevant details before 31 July 2020.

We will have to wait for EAAB notification for information iro agents who have already paid.

A New Board

The Minister has called for a final report from the current board members and a call for nominations for a new board for the EAAB/PPRA will be advertised shortly.

Property Practitioners Act and Regulations

The Regulations to the Property Practitioners Act will be published this year to enable the operation of the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) which replaces the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB).

Rebosa has provided extensive comments on the Regulations and we look forward to a speedy finalisation.

2021 FFCs

The EAAB are unfortunately experiencing problems with their IT system resulting in agents being unable to renew 2021 FFCs online.  We are waiting for a response from the EAAB in this regard.

It is recommended that renewals be done asap.
