In REBOSA Reports

Dear Colleagues

2020 FFC Feedback

Rebosa is cognisant of the current state of the 2020 FFC backlog.  As valued members you are well aware of the extent we have gone to in our liaison with the EAAB to ensure the timeous issue of your FFCs.  Unfortunately, as of today – many FFCs have still not been issued.

We will continue in our endeavour to ensure that every compliant agent has the right to trade.

The EAAB currently has a list of unresolved FFCs queries which we are waiting feedback on.  We therefore ask you to bear with us as we navigate these issues with them.

If you have completed our form on https://www.rebosa.co.za/2020-ffcs-online-query/ then please be assured that your query is receiving attention.  Given the large number of FFC queries we have received since December, we are unable to deal with each query on a case by case basis.

On this note, Rebosa have successfully intervened in ensuring the issue of over 1800 FFCs to our members and we will continue to do so until every agent has an FFC to trade in 2020.

Revised Property Sector Code?  NOT YET

Below, please find the draft revised Property Sector Scorecard for your perusal.

Please note that this document will soon be published for comment and will only become effective when finalised.  Until then the current code applies.   Please see below “TUESDAY INSIGHT”.

IEASA published this document without stating the above, so please take care as this “revised” code may well still change.

Rebosa are represented on the technical committee of the PSCC and we will keep you informed as we progress with this matter.

We remind you that it is stated in Section 8.6 of the Property Sector Code that:

An Exempted Micro-Enterprise, “EME” is only required to submit a sworn affidavit confirming an annual turnover of less than R2.5 million. EMEs automatically gain Level 4 BBBEE status. Affidavits are valid for a period of one year, and then need to be re-done. You only need to do an affidavit should you need to present a BEE certificate to anyone.

Please find the “PSCC SWORN AFFIDAVIT – B-BBEE EXEMPTED MICRO ENTERPRISE – PROPERTY SECTOR” template below for your ease of use if required.

Security

Following several instances of violence perpetrated against estate agents recently reported, it is astounding that agents are still brave enough to have open houses and meet up with strangers.

Safety cannot be emphasised enough.

Mr Howard Markham recently conducted an in-depth investigation on products that have the potential to enhance your safety.  Please visit Rebosa’s website for the full report on all options for your consideration https://www.rebosa.co.za/security-options-for-estate-agents/
