A property in the U.K. has become the first home to be sold at a live Facebook viewing after receiving three offers.

Estate Agent Today reports that online agency Housesimple was aiming to sell the three bedroom semi-detached bungalow in Rainham, east London, valued at between £470,000 and £475,000.

Housesimple specialises in both selling and letting homes and set up the Facebook live viewing as a trial.

The home’s owner Shanty Helim, staged the viewing herself during lunchtime – a decision which was made to optimise the amount of people who would look at the house.

Interested parties were then encouraged to make an offer on the home via the Facebook Messenger application both during and after the viewing.

Over 20,000 people viewed the property via Housesimple’s Facebook page and the deal has now gone through with the purchaser paying £467,000.

“I’m over the moon that my house has been sold for such as competitive price and so quickly. Housesimple’s livestreaming service has made the sale of my home as simple and convenient as possible, and I would urge other homeowner sellers to go online as a way of saving time and money” says the vendor.

Helim’s home was listed on Housesimple’s website in addition to the portal’s partner websites which include Rightmove and Zoopla.
